At pop-up clinics like the one at the Church of God, Boston Medical Center has distributed 1,223 vaccine doses. Over a slightly longer period, since February, BMC has distributed roughly 41,000 vaccines at mobile clinics across Boston

Dr. Kristin Moffitt, a pediatric infectious disease physician at Boston Children’s Hospital, said children under 12 who are not yet eligible for the vaccine become indirectly protected when those around them are vaccinated because kids, especially those who are very young, tend to become infected from adults.

“Dan is a superstar,” said Harvard Provost Alan M. Garber. “Dan’s work shows how you go from basic discoveries and laboratory innovations to developing an effective, widely used health intervention.”

Several major technology and health care companies have come together to create the SMART Health Card, a digital COVID-19 vaccination card based on Boston Children’s Hospital technology.

“We are sequencing all the cases from MGH and from the Brigham … and they’re all delta,” said Lemieux. “It’s been present in the region for a couple of months, but really just over the last few weeks, just taken over.”

For the past decade, Boston police have partnered with Boston Medical Center’s Boston Emergency Services Team, or BEST, to pair officers with mental health workers to respond to calls that pose a public safety risk together.
