Request for Proposals: Regional Hospital Evacuation Functional Exercise
The Conference of Boston Teaching Hospitals (COBTH) is soliciting proposals from qualified emergency management, healthcare preparedness, exercise design, and/or public safety consulting firms to support the development and delivery of a Regional Hospital Evacuation Functional Exercise in the Boston/Metro-Boston area.
The selected vendor will work with COBTH and regional partners to design, plan, facilitate, evaluate, and document an in-person functional exercise intended to validate COBTH’s Regional Hospital Evacuation Coordination Plan and related plans, policies, and procedures. The exercise will focus on realistic regional coordination challenges associated with a short-notice hospital evacuation and will identify strengths, operational gaps, coordination barriers, and opportunities for improvement.
Project Focus
The exercise will evaluate six core areas: patient placement coordination; communication and situational awareness; supply, resource, and staff sharing; regional evacuation coordination; Fire and EMS integration; and integration of the Regional Disaster Health Response System (RDHRS) Region 1.
