Massachusetts General Hospital has a longstanding commitment to providing local youth with summer employment, partnering annually with the Boston Mayor’s Summer Jobs program.

In recognition of this gift, the hospital is honored to rename its combined cardiovascular programs the Benderson Family Heart Center at Boston Children's Hospital.

Researchers from the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute use this information to generate databases of clinical, genomic, molecular, and patient-reported data that is then de-identified and shared with researchers everywhere.

That's Dr. Lakshman Swamy, critical care physician at Cambridge Health Alliance. His residents are using their downtime to identify which of their primary care patients are unvaccinated. Then they call them to talk about getting the vaccine.

With the delta variant, children are more likely to get COVID-19 when they're exposed, but it's not more likely to put them in the hospital, said Dr. Vandana Madhavan, the clinical director of pediatric infectious disease at Massachusetts General Hospital.
